A Proof coins is a specimen striking of coinage for presentation, souvenir, exhibition, or numismatic purposes. The 1950-1964 were only minted at the Philadelphia Mint. The term Proof refers to the method of manufacture and not the condition of a coin. Proof coins can usually be distinguished by their sharpness of detail, high wire edge, and extremely brilliant, mirror like surfaces. All Proofs were originally sold by the U.S. Mint at a premium.

Classy Coins have in inventory many early individual Proof coins for the collector who wants to complete their collection. All proof coins are taken from original U.S. Proof sets and placed into Saflips with gloved hands, and the sealed inside a Saf-T-Mailer before they are mailed to you through the U.S. Mail.
